...a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative and supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The First Annual UMW Retreat Was A Success!...June 17th, 13 women set off to Camp Olmsted, and the little town of Cornwall on the Hudson, for a break from the City, fellowship, study and fun. Our theme was "Contemplation and Action" and we drew inspiration from the stories of Martha and Mary (Luke 10: 38-42), Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:7-41) and a modern day, true story of 70 women from Sierra Leone so inspired in their study of the scriptures that they resolved to be catalysts for change in their country's political system--dangerous and couragious action on their part! Time was made for a pizza party, good conversation, laughs and walks along the Hudson, concluding Saturday with a brainstorming session of ideas for future mission projects, fundraising and fellowship & study opportunities.
Missed this retreat? Stay tuned for a future retreat opportunity in the Fall...

Our weekly coffee hours are an important part of the life of the PAUMC congregation. People first come to PAUMC for many reasons, but they often return because of our church family’s warm, welcome and friendly hospitality. You can play a significant role in creating that feeling of welcome, so please consider joining a coffee hour team. You can write your name on the sign up sheet in the basement or contact the church office directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Park Avenue UMC’s youth are “PLUGGED IN” to God and committed to growing as Christ’s disciples.
The youth meet regularly for fun-filled, engaging activities, community service and more. All youth 6th-
12th grade are welcome to participate in PAUMC’s Youth Ministry Program.
Plugged In’s Mission is inspired by the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great
Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
The “Plugged In” Youth of Park Avenue United Methodist Church:
So that all youth may actively participate in the life of the church, have a safe place to enjoy themselves
and grow in their faith without judgment.
The Plugged In Youth Ministry Program is led by PAUMC’s YOUTH COUNCIL which seeks to create
programming that helps fulfill this mission. The Youth Council is comprised of people who are regularly
involved in the community of faith:
Council members serve for the academic year: June-May with elections to be held annually in May.
Any youth may nominate a youth (including his or herself) to serve on the Youth Council. Nominations will be open for two weeks before a vote is taken. All youth may vote in the Youth Council elections.
