AN INVITATION TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH
“Our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee” wrote St. Augustine. These words remind us of our need to connect with God and to enter into healthy relationships with others. Education is very important at Park Avenue UMC because it is through education that we grow spiritually and mature as Christians. To that end, we offer a variety of classes and special events for your spiritual development.

FORGIVENESS & FAITH
So often we have trouble letting go of past hurts and wounds. The inability to forgive can be paralyzing and set us on a downward spiral costing precious time, energy, and peace of mind. This 4-week course will explore forgiveness as a fundamental principle of the Christian faith and a transformative act that sets us free to enjoy the good life God intended. Jesus taught us to pray, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Then on the cross he prayed, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing.” How do we begin the process of forgiveness? Does forgiveness mean that we forget? Are some things unforgivable? We will explore these questions and others as we seek to live lives of wholeness and peace with ourselves, God, and one another. Classes begin Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 pm and will be taught by Rev. Cathy.
Meditation Class
Have you ever wanted to learn to meditate? Do you already meditate but want to advance your practice? Are you just interested in new ways you might grow spiritually? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then join Pastor Mandy for a 4-week study on meditation. Each class we will talk about the whys and hows of meditation, as well as spend a significant amount of time doing the practice of meditation. Classes will begin on Wednesday, May 23, from 7-8PM in the Library on the 4th floor.
